Easy Ways to Make Your Next Beach Trip a Breeze.

Easy-Ways-to-Make-Your-Next-Beach-Trip-a-Breeze

Summer is right around the corner, and you know what that means: it’s time to head to the beach! However, planning the perfect getaway for your friends or family isn’t always easy. Take the stress out of planning with this handy guide. Here are a few ways you can make the most out of your time at the beach.

  1. Plan Ahead

The beach is one of the few locations many can enjoy while remaining socially distanced. Although it’s not ideal, what better way to hang out with loved ones than at the beach? Before you start packing your car or duffel bag, stay one step ahead of the game. Spontaneous trips are fun and exciting but could lead to you forgetting a few beach essentials here and there. Make a list and remember to check it twice! You will also want to ensure the weather is perfect prior to heading out. You don’t want to arrive and see an endless amount of gray clouds in the sky. If you plan on taking Fido, read up on the beach’s regulations on dogs. Not all beaches allow your four-legged friends to roam freely or get in the water.

The trick to a perfect day at the beach is a good cooler. Opt for coolers with wheels to make transporting goodies from the car to your sunbathing spot much easier. If you’ve never packed a cooler, no worries! Here’s how you should layer your items:

Items that are going inside the cooler should be chilled in the fridge prior to loading to help with the cooling. Don’t forget to bring napkins, plates, cups, and cutlery—you don’t want to be eating with sandy hands.

The importance of protecting yourself from the sun should not be underestimated. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, reducing exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UV) lowers your risk of skin cancer and permanent skin damage. It’s vital everyone, including kids six months and older, spending time under the sun wear sunscreen with an SPF 30 or higher. Additionally, reapplication is necessary immediately after swimming or sweating. If you’re not swimming, reapply every two hours. However, sunscreen is the bare minimum to keeping yourself safe. To shield yourself from the sun’s powerful rays even better, wear a hat and use UV-blocking sunglasses

Summertime means finding the perfect swimsuit to splash around or sunbathe in. There are so many options, but choosing the right one doesn’t have to be a drag. When looking for swimwear to purchase, decide how you want it to fit. Do you want a thin bikini, high-waisted bottoms, or a one-piece? Ideally, you want to be comfortable and feel your best. A few swimsuits also contain materials that offer UV protection to guard you against the sun.

What’s a beach day without a little music? While some may enjoy hearing the waves crash against the shore, others want to sink their toes in the sand and dance. Whatever it is, prepare a playlist with a little bit of everything. You and your friends can take turns playing their favorite songs. You’re going to want a speaker that is waterproof (in case any mishaps occur), has great sound quality, is wireless, and can last for hours.

Although there are plenty of activities to do at the beach, such as swim, look for seashells, and walk the shore, a good read is essential for those wanting to relax. Grab your favorite paperbacks, magazines or e-reader, and start reading! There are plenty of accessories and hacks that will make beach reading easier.

Ready to catch some waves, build sandcastles, and have fun under the sun? With these steps, your next beach trip will be a breeze.
