Positive and Productive Quarantine Experience
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the entire world, and the best way to beat this disease is to stay in our homes and maintain social distancing. It has now almost been a month since we have been in quarantine, and boredom is starting to mess with our minds.
However, if you maintain a positive attitude, you can enjoy your time and stay productive, even when you are stuck at home. Here are eight things that I do to use my time, try them out for a positive and productive quarantine experience. Things To Do At Your Home In Quarantine.
Learn a skill:
One of the best things to do with all the extra time you have is to invest it in yourself and learn a new skill. You can learn a new language, teach yourself a musical instrument, or learn a skill that allows you to perform better in your respective field.
There are thousands of online courses available for learning things, from writing and marketing to graphic designing and programming. You can also learn some practical skills, and pick up some DIY projects to make use of your time.
If you already have a skill, you can also start working on some freelancing websites to make some extra money while you are home. Either way, if you want to work on yourself and expand your skills, you shouldn’t waste all this spare time.
While you’re at home during quarantine, why not explore the fascinating world of languages? Learning a new language can be both enriching and practical. Immerse yourself in a new culture, connect with people from different backgrounds, and broaden your horizons. If you’re looking to delve into the French language, consider seeking the guidance of experienced French language tutors who can provide tailored lessons and help you progress effectively
Doing Some Craft Activities
Thoroughly clean up your home:
Well, since you are stuck at home, and you don’t have much to do, how about you do a thorough clean-up of your home. Now, of course, you do clean up your home regularly, but many home maintenance tasks aren’t routinely done, and quarantine is the perfect time to catch up on these chores.
For instance, you can clean out the air filter for your AC unit, clean the ceiling fans, tidy up your basement, or maybe wash your mattress toppers and comforters. This is a great way to stay busy, and as the whole family is at home, you will also have some helping hands to make the job easier.
Try out some new and delicious recipes:
One of the things that I miss the most during the quarantine is eating in restaurants and ordering takeout. However, since all the restaurants are closed, I have been sharpening up my cooking skills and trying out new recipes.
This is an excellent way to spend some time productively and make delicious and nutritious meals for your family. If you don’t know much about cooking, you can quickly get started. Just watch some cooking channels on YouTube and follow along.
During this quarantine, I have also started baking. This is an excellent and enjoyable hobby, and it broadens your skills as a home cook.
Spend some quality time with your family:
Usually, we are busy and so caught up in our hectic routines that we don’t get to appreciate our family and enjoy their company like we want to. If you are lucky enough to be in quarantine with your family, this is a perfect time to catch up.
You can do many activities together. However, one thing that we find super enjoyable in my home is playing board games. Though some arguments are unavoidable while playing something like monopoly, all and all, we get to spend some quality time together.
So, if you are also bored at home, take out the old board games, or plan some other activities that allow the entire family to come together and bond with each other.
Catch up on some reading:
Have you been planning to read some books, but you can’t seem to get any time? Well, the extra time in quarantine is perfect for catching up on some light reading. You can find any book you want to read on the internet; however, I do prefer to learn from a book.
Moreover, because of all the technology we have, taking time out for reading in our day to day lives becomes very difficult, whereas it can be a beneficial habit that allows us to learn a lot. Therefore, quarantine is the perfect time to read a book, or if you feel like it, you can even try your hand at writing one.
Find some TV-shows to watch:
Well, if you have a lot of time on your hands, and you’re super bored and don’t have anything else to do, a great way to have some fun and enjoy yourself during this quarantine is watching some TV shows.
Since all sporting events have been postponed, and sometimes the news can get depressing with all that is going on around the world, watching a fun TV show can be a welcome escape.
Another great way to have some fun during the quarantine is to start playing video games. If you are a fan of gaming, you can have a lot of fun during the quarantine, playing online games with your friends.
Workout at home:
One thing that has been difficult for me is that all the gyms are also closed because of the quarantine, and when you are staying at home and trying out new recipes every day, exercise becomes very important to maintain your fitness.
I’m pretty sure that many other people also have this problem, however, if you want to train at home, it is easier than ever. You can download many workout apps that can help your train, or you can also watch some videos.
So, motivate yourself to stay fit and workout from home; it is a great way to release aggression and clear your mind during this stressful time.
Call your friends:
Well, one of the main downsides of the quarantine is that you can see your friends. I miss my friends a lot, so I make sure to give them a call now and then. This is a great way to counter the feeling of loneliness, singularly if you aren’t quarantined with your family.
To sum it all up, I understand that staying at home and living in quarantine can be hard, both physically and on a psychological level. However, your perspective matters a lot; if you keep a positive attitude and try out some of the activities mentioned in this post, you will be able to enjoy your time in quarantine.
